We met at La Plaza Mall and the bus showed up at 7:50. We loaded up and everyone was there at 7:59. Checked out the papers to see everyone could pass muster at the checkpoint and pulled off by 8:06. Stopped for money change at the Casa de Cambio in Hidalgo and on to Mexico. We drove down to Monterrey and then turned south to go to Horsetail Falls, or Cola de Caballo.

We drove south on the road to Montemorelos for about 20 miles until we came to Los Cavazos, a tourist market town. we stopped in to have lunch at Tio Pancho's buffet style restaurant.

Sixty pesos ($6.60) paid for all you could eat and drinks for each of us and you can see the looks of saity on the face of a bunch of hungry students. From left to right are shown Erika Flores, Melissa Guerrero, Jessica Carrejo. Across the table are shown Reynold Casanova, Roberto Treviño, Robert Zamora, and Lazara Coronado.

From another angle, here are more students who have just finished their lunch. Left to right are Fernando Ruiz, Aaron Lara, Hector Orellana, Clarissa Ramirez, Edith Lopez and Magaly Rios.

Gorditas, fresh tortillas, and a steam table of freshly prepared meat dishes are shown on the buffet line.

Fernando Ruiz, Clarissa Ramirez, Edith Lopez, Noemi Gutierrez, Sara Gutierrez and Magaly Rios sit on the stairs from top to botton while Hector Orellano holds the stairs up. This shot was taken behind the restaurant.

On to the park where the Horsetail Falls are located. Here we see pictures being shot of students in a verdant setting.

The Falls as seen from the lowest level of the falls. That's a bridge up there that you can see people standing on. It looks like the major part of the falls is about 70 feet high.

Here's a bunch of the kids standing at the base of the falls ont he bridge.

Someone (Aaron Lara) said we could climb up the gentle slope to the top and see back down into the valley. This gentle slope is about 60 degree grade.

Rey Casanova proves he's macho by climbing up onto the rocks for a photo.

Aaron is shown there too, but we think he was trying to avoid being pushed back down the hill by the dozen of so who foolishly followed him to the top. Only another 15 minutes to climb from here.

This is what we climbed up there to get. Really beautiful view all the way back to the lake.
