Day Two: We got up and went to Monterrey Tec to visit their campus. Everyone was on the bus by 8:40 and away we went.
We were met by Claudia Millan who works in public relations for the University and she showed us a video and told us about the history and current status of Monterrey Tec.
You can see that everyone is awake and listening carefully to hear her tell us about the school.
Outside we met up with Eduardo and he told us about the murals on the Rectory wall and explained the significance of them. He then took us for a walking tour around the campus.
A huge memorial to the founder of the Tec, who also established the brewery up there.
We toured the studios in the center for development of distance learning. Drtee and Eduardo are shown on the set of one of the rooms from which classes are taught and taped. Classes can be simultaneously viewed at campuses throughout the Tec System. Students can also check out tapes to review in case they miss a class.
The landmark twin towers that make the Center for Advancement in Production.
A view of the front of the Rectory. This is the administrative offices of the Rector, or President of the University.
We ate lunch at Carls Jr's. and then took a bus ride up to the top of the mountain south of Monterrey to a place called Chipinqi Ecology Park.
Fernando Ruiz is shown looking down at the impressive view below. Meanwhile, Rey Casanova smiles for the camera with the valley behind him.
What a view! This is the city of Monterrey laid out below.
After the 30 minute trip back down the mountain we stopped off at a super deluxe shopping mall so the girls could get a shopping fix.
Robert tried out for a job selling shoes, but Erika wouldn't buy them, so he still doesn't have a job.
Drtee and Rey take their own pictures in front of the fountain with King Neptune and his court of see beings. By the way, all of the statues are anatomically correct.
