We left our lovely hotel in Monterrey at 8:00 am and headed up the mountain to Saltillo. We went to the Museum of the Desert there.

Here we all are. We got one of the women from the museum staff to take pictures and she used eleven different cameras, so there should be lots of versions of this picture.

We took a couple of hours checking out the site and this picture was taken near the end of the tour. This fantastic museum was opened in 1999 and was paid for by various corporate sponsorships.

Robert got chased by a bear. Actually, it's a place they have set up so little kids can have their pictures made with a stuffed bear.

Hey, Drtee can be a kid ,too.

Apparently, Lazara saw the movie Bambi too many times.

Hmmm... I wonder how you fix a dinosaur egg omelet.

Robert and Lazara check out the tortoises.

After the motel we went to VIPs restaurant and had a big lunch and then hit the road to Zacatecas. Did you ever see so many sleepy heads? The trip took about five hours.

We checked into the Posado Casa de la Monedo in lovely downtown Zacatecas. Here you can see Eric Hernandez looking out the window at the mountain scenery. This is an older, sort of rundown, hotel that is located in the heart of the historic center of the city and the kids original reaction was either "Yuk!" or "Wow!"

It wasn't long before it got dark and you can see the view from our balcony window back up the street.

E-mail facilities were located and lots of accounts got checked.
