This is a travel day and the group leaves Zacatecas and heads for Guadalajara. We were up and rolling before 8:30 AM and the trip down to Guadalajara was about 350 km or about 6 hours. We stopped along the way to help out a bus that was out of gas and due to a stop by the soldiers who had us get off and open our luggage for a gun search. Fortunately, no one had anything they were looking for.

Up and at 'em. The girls were up and ready for breakfast before the drive down to Guadalajara.

This is the hotel we checked into. It's the Hotel Plaza Genova, a Best Western hotel. The kids were much happier with the looks of this place. It is in the heart of the city and close to most of the major historic sights and museums.

Guadalajara is a city of beautiful buildings and here is but one of them. It's the Palacio Gobierno. We took a bunch of photos of the beautiful archtecture and a major mural.

Here are only two of the panels.

This is the Degallado Theatre taken from across the Plaza de Armes.

Looking back the other way you can see the back side of the cathedral, which is the major icon of the city.

Drtee, Robert Zamora, and Rey decided to have lunch on the Plaza.

Rey took these pictures of some especially lovely stone works.

Since we'd all been so good, we decided to take a night out for some entertainment, so off we went to La Feria, a restaurant and night club near our hotel. To see pictures of the show and the evening, go here.
