We got out of Zacatecas shortly before 9:00 and headed further South to Guadalajara. Only 310 km. or about 195 miles but it took over 6 hours and then the drivers made a wrong turn and it took another 40 minutes to get to our hotel. Lots of beautiful scenery along the way and several mountain passes.

A waterfall that we saw about 20 miles prior to this shot. It looks lovely, but is actually very polluted. We passed over the river it feeds and it looked and smelled like a sewer. We came to the source a bit further up the road--a major sewage treatment plant that appears to have failed.

Our hotel (taken from promotional shot), which is almost like this. We're all on the 2nd floor near each other. Kids tried out the pool and it works. I also got AOL connection here and was able to upload several pages.

We arrived ravenous. Note the time. No decent restaurants on the road, so we waited and waited. We rushed out and ate at a cheap but clean restaurant nearby. Ed and Adan were getting ready to dig in.

Amy, Selina and Bruce are patiently waiting their food.

We went out to La Feria, a night club near the hotel, and enjoyed the floor show. Here are two folkloric dancers in their first number.

Female singer. She was quite good, but a blond Mexican?

Mariachi singer. Frankly, he wasn't as good as those I've seen here previously.

The final act was a couple of Argentinian charros (they claimed to be) and they beat on drums and twirled balls on strings. The tall guy is kicking up a storm. He's the spinner.

Brad was "volunteered" to appear on stage with the guys and they showed him how the Charro guy could spin balls on yellow ropes with great speed and accuracy. Brad is shown with a pair of big balls, which aren't really what the tall guy used.

Cool, calm, and collected, Brad waited until the charro popped the cigarette butt from his lips. Fancy.
