The Guadalajara campus of Tec de Monterrey will soon be 12 years old. The entire campus was designed to have a continuity of style as it grows. There are 5,500 students with 1,500 in the Prepatorio (High School) and 3,500 undergraduates and 500 graduate students. Half of the students are majoring in business and the other half in various types of engineering and/or architecture. Since architecture is a specialty you might expect that the campus would be an architectural showcase and it is. The spiral staircase behind this group of guys is typical of most of the campus. |

Modern architecture and beautiful vistas make for a harmonious learning environment. |
Beautiful campus to say the least. Notice the greenery provided to make for a cool atmosphere. |
A six lane Olympic sized pool is provided for students to swim laps or train for competition. |
An outdoor picnic area where students can have lunch or snacks and work with their computers using wireless access, which covers the entire campus. |
Smile! or ¡Sonreisa! is what Cristine is saying to some Tec students who are working on their computers during lunch hour. |

The ICC building, which is the main library of the campus. This building is intended to be expanded and you can even see beams extending out the top right corner where it will be joined to a future extension. The backside of the building even has floor extensions to provide a solid join when they add to the back. A future extension will be he mirror image of what you see here. The computer lab is located on the top floor. |

Afer , an instructor in International Business, gave us a lecture on Doing Business with Mexicans. It dealt with the cultural factors that make Mexicans different from Europeans and Americans. It was well done and the kids reflected that he touched on some important values of the Mexican culture. |

Nieves, our contact from the International Programs department, took us on a brief tour of the campus and showed us the communications laboratory where students can participate in distance learning, produce video and radio. She was my angel of mercy, since she managed to pull together a program at the last minute. ¡Mil veces gracias, Nieves! |
