We left Sevilla and drove to Granada.  This took several hours and we stopped along the way to have lunch at a big rest stop/restaurant in the middle of olive growing country, which went on for miles and miles.  When we got to Granada we stopped at the four tombs of the royals.  Ferdinand and Isabel are on the right and Philip the Fair and Juana are on the left.  Sorry, no pictures permitted.

A view from the other side of the river looking back West.

Looking bck to the South.  That bridge takes you across to the central shopping area.  Those are apartments across the way.  A really beautiful town.

This marble paved boulevard runs from the park by the river up to another park and it's a major area for people to congregate and stroll in the evenings.

This is the fountain by the park.

Two Bolivian flautists were playing on the boulevard in the evening.  Very good and Sallie bought a couple of their tapes.  They didn't hardly speak Spanish, but spoke a native dialect.

They were having a major ceramics market there in the plaza and for some reason had put up temporary fencing around the fountain that put off a super fine mist.  It was hot there and the mist added some coolness to the air.

Back to school.  Rafael, our Ferguson on this trip) lectures to the group in the nave of the cathedral.  Notice that it is all white inside.

Really stunning beauty.  This is one of the pipe organs.

Two more views inside the cathedral.

More views of the inside of the cathedral.

The next morning we got up early and headed for the Alhambra, which is the high point of the city visit.
