We left Salamanca and headed up towards the Northern Coast and the first place we saw along the coast was the city of Bilbao. The major sight in the city is their new Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art, which is what you see on this page. I really didn't feel like doing much here, so we just found the museum, took these pictures and headed for San Sebastian.

This museum was opened in 1998. The old harbor, which was a bunch of ugly industrial stuff, was demolished and this huge stainless steel building was made to house a modern art gallery. I didn't go in, but I understand the building is more significant than most of the art that is contained within it.

This place is so big you can't get it all in one frame without a wide-angle lens. I forgot mine.

I understand this is a spider. See the two people who are right beside it to get some idea of how big this thing is.
